International Roaming is Eliminated in Asia

Oct. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- Staying in contact across borders has a reputation for being expensive, especially to travellers going outside Europe. Since the EU Commission imposed reduced European rates, roaming costs outside Europe have increased.

Travellers to Asia are currently paying up to £1.30 per minute to answer a call, making the average bill for one week’s holiday well into the hundreds.  Users that don’t switch off their data roaming could come home to a bill in the thousands.

With the continuous debate regarding solutions to expensive international roaming costs, WorldSIM (http://www.worldsim.com/), winner of the 2013 award for Best Telecoms, Broadband and Media Provider, have once again stepped up to the plate and eliminated international roaming costs in Singapore, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Indonesia.  Users of the WorldSIM travel SIM card (http://www.worldsim.com/international-sim-card/) will now be able to receive calls for free in most of Asia.

Arif Reza, CEO at WorldSIM revealed “We now have now abolished international roaming in 94 countries and have plans for more in the near future.  WorldSIM customers will get free incoming calls in most of Asia as well as USA, Australia, Canada, Europe and Mexico.”

WorldSIM eliminated roaming costs in India, China, Thailand and Japan earlier this year and have plans to launch two new products before the end of 2013.
