Grand Hyatt Doha And Qatar Cancer Society Collaborate For Breast Cancer Awarness Month

 
DOHA, Qatar - Oct. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- DOHA, QATAR (1 October 2013) – Grand Hyatt Doha, in collaboration with Qatar Cancer Society, today announces the launch of an awareness campaign in support of breast cancer awareness throughout the month.  October is the official Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM), an annual international health campaign organised by major breast cancer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breast_cancer) charities every October to increase awareness of the disease (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breast_cancer_awareness) and to raise funds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fundraising) for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.

The hotel will support the cause in several ways.  All employees will be wearing a pink ribbon as part of their daily uniform throughout the month.  At Biscotti, a special pink cupcake will be available, where QR5 from each cupcake will be donated to Qatar Cancer Society.  Also at Biscotti, a donation box will be set up to encourage all guests to donate directly to the organisation.  The hotel will also provide information on Breast Cancer, including informative flyers and phone numbers to book checkups.

On October 23, the hotel will host a ladies-only high-tea fundraiser inviting all women in Qatar to attend.  Participating guests will pay QR100, of which all profits will be donated to Qatar Cancer Society.  In association with Fashion Rocks Qatar, the event will include a fashion auction by various designers that will also be part of the fundraising for the cause.

“The event is an integral part of an active health and community awareness strategy created by Grand Hyatt Doha.  The event will be a wonderful social gathering, and an opportunity for people to give back to the community,” said Farah El Alfy, marketing communications manager of Grand Hyatt Doha.

The Qatar Cancer Society was founded with the sole purpose of combating cancer and raising awareness of preventive measures, early detection, treatment and survival.
