Third Annual Gary International Black Film Festival Honors Mayor in The Silent Killer Documentary

Gary's Former Mayor, Rudy Clay speaks about Prostate Cancer in The Silent Killer Documentary. This movie raises awareness about Prostate Cancer in the African American community. The Silent Killer screens during GIBFF on October 19, 2013.

GARY, Ind. - Oct. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Gary native, Christopher Edwards and  his co-producer Landi Maduro and Executive Produced the film, The Silent Killer which screens at The Third Annual Gary Indiana Black FIlm Festival on October 19, 2013.

The Silent Killer Documentary has been screened around the country by various groups that are prominent in the African American community such as The Los Angeles Urban League of Young Professionals and various churches. According to the CDC in 2009 African American Males were the highest in number to be at risk or to actual have Prostate Cancer.

Executive Producers Chrisopher Edwards, Landi Maduro, and wanted to raise awareness about Prostate Cancer. It has touched their lives and they want to save lives while staying true to their craft of film making. Their mission has been to spread the word about The Silent Killer aka Prostate Cancer.

Christopher Edwards has recently moved into the TV scene as Director of Cinematography. Christopher grew up in Gary Indiana and carved a name for himself in the entertainment community by creating a niche in Christian media. Several years and video shoots later Edwards Media Group LLC is an ever growing mogul in Christian music videos, concert videos and promotional videos. Past clients include legendary singer Shirley Murdock, Lucinda Moore, The Anointed Pace Sisters, Darwin Hobbs, and The Rance Allen Group as well as additional directing and producing for Dr. Scott’s Be Lifted Up CD and DVD.

Landi Maduro is no stranger to entertainment either. As most intelligent starlets do, Landi branched out into the world of producing and directing to create roles for herself.The first project she produced was, “I Can’t Pretend”. She developed a fondness for producing and discovered a propensity for wearing many hats. Next she co-produced and starred in “Sheroes”. She made her directorial debut shooting the infomercial for the book, “Faces I Have Seen”.

She is currently working on several project including  “Cheaply Captured”, a reality show (co producer/director) and her second screenplay, “Dating.com” a romantic comedy.


THE SILENT KILLER is a documentary short that focuses on the alarming rate of Black men affected by prostate cancer. Featuring interviews with former Gary Mayor Rudolph Clay, who succumbed to the disease in 2013. The Urban League of Northwest Indiana is a community Partner of  The Third Annual Gary Indiana Black Film Festival and are showing support of this film.

The Silent Killer Documentary preceeds the screening of the one-hour feature length film, VETERANS OF COLOR at 3 pm.
