Follow on Google News | A Coloring Book for Grown-ups and Kids Just in Time for ChristmasLabyrinthos, a coloring book for grown-ups and kids is available from the creator through the Kickstarter website through October 20.
By: Konokopia Labyrinthos is a modern-art coloring book that is also an abstract maze puzzle game. Each spread of the book is an abstract composition created largely from the dynamic interplay between the large, open spaces and the densely woven paths that make up the maze puzzle. Some additional elements add interest and detail and texture to the whole. "What makes Labyrinthós excel as a coloring book is that by being a non-objective abstraction, you do not get bogged down by reality" explains the creator of the book, Maciek Jozefowicz. "You can set your imagination free because you are not coloring any objects that have color already associated with them, such as the grass being green or the sky being blue. Thus you can concentrate on developing color relationships. You can enjoy color as color." There are three versions of Labyrinthós coloring book, each is a different maze puzzle. The hardback, 28-page book ($15 tax and shipping included) is great if you like working with colored pencils. The softcover, 8-page booklet ($10) and the folded card ($5), which are printed on heavy cardstock, are excellent if you like working with markers and colored pencils and pens. "These books are a great activity for parents and kids to do together because they are not only coloring books but also maze puzzles. They are games that can be played by multiple players in a variety of ways. Rather than stiflling creativity with rules, this book challenges it," says the artist. But if you would like one of these coloring books for yourself or your children, you must hurry. The Kickstarter campaign, through which the books are currently being offered, will run only until October 20. After that the campaign closes and the artist will begin shipping the books.
