By: Texas Triskelions, Ltd. Re-learning Roots and Core Principles with Renewed Enthusiasm The Texas Regional Council (TRC) of the Triskelions’ The celebration included a re-orientation highlighting fraternity history and practical application of their core principles before enthusiastic Triskelions, young and old alike, conducted by guest keynote speaker from Los Angeles, Ray Ramirez, UPD 1972, President of the Fraternity’s California Lower Missions Council who is also Founder of The Los Angeles Chapter way back in 1978. The day event, which also included a General Assembly, was held at ‘The Woodlands’ Holiday Inn Express Hotel on I-45. A week prior to the event, fellow U.P. Diliman Alumni Ray and Ed Ramirez (no relation, from Pearland, Tx), brainstormed and agreed to include unresolved local matters in the topics of discussion other than the re-orientation sessions. On Saturday morning, just fresh from re-learning fraternity history and practical application of core principles, the enthusiastic attendees unanimously approved the proposed CBL (constitution and by-laws) after minor revisions have been recommended and agreed to such issues as dues and attendance at set meetings and assemblies. By the time lunch was served, courtesy of volunteers and Ed Ramirez’ better half, Babs, all lingering internal issues have already been resolved. By the time the group re-convened after lunch break, everyone already agreed to reaffirm allegiance to the fraternity ideals and teachings and to renew ties among inactive and active fraternal members and families. The Council’s Constitution and By Laws to be filed with the Secretary of State and IRS for tax exemption contained the following as agreed upon: Official Corporation Name: Texas Triskelions, Ltd. Several things were discussed and agreed upon by the entire group. Items such as regular Officers meeting, members meeting, annual dues and membership guidelines in general, among other things, were discussed in details and ratified accordingly. The remaining hours of the afternoon were left to discussing proper protocol and decorum when engaged in social media and the use of electronic correspondence. The re-orientation was wrapped up with some important pointers as written and expounded by guest speaker Ramirez. Later that evening, the group, again, re-convened at interim Vice President-external Irwin Mateo’s home in “The Woodlands” for dinner, awarding of certificates of attendance and election of the following officers: Brod Gerry Nicodemus (https://www.facebook.com/ Indoctrinated personally as a collegian by the Fraternity’s Founding Fathers, Ray Ramirez has conducted similar re-orientations In Manila and Quezon City (Philippines) Tau Gamma Phi originated from the Diliman Campus of the University of the Philippines on October 4, 1968.
