LAKE WORTH, Fla. - Oct. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Oldrockphoto.com is proud to announce that one of the Miami Pop Festival  photographs of Jimi Hendrix was taken by it's photographer Ken Davidoff. This album is set for a Nov. 5th, 2013 release. Called "The Miami Pop Festival", and produced by Authentic Hendrix LLC. The music is on a single CD, and a limited edition double audiophile 12 inch vinyl set. This is from a performance recorded by Jimi's long time enginer, Eddie Kramer at the 1968 Miami Pop Festival that occured at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Florida on May 18th 1968. This was one of the most dynamic performances by Jimi Hendrix and the Experience, in his entire career, it was promoted by partners Ric O'Barry from the movie "The Cove", and Michael Lang of Woodstock fame. The Miami Pop Festival was the first major Rock Festival staged on the East Coast after the Monterey Pop Fest, and was commemorated at the original venue, Gulfstream Park, with an historical marker on July 4th, 2012, For the marker, Michael Lang wrote "This is where the seeds of Woodstock
were sown" The album will also contain some of Ken's never befor published  Miami Pop Festival photos. The album will  be accompanied by a documentary film, "Hear My Train a Comin" released on DVD and Blue Ray, and features interviews with Hendrix, commentary by family members, and interviews with some of Jimi's contemporaries, including Sir Paul McCartney, Noel Redding, Mitch Mitchell, Billy Cox, Eddie Kramer, Steve Winwood, Vernon Reid, Billy Gibbons, Dweezil Zappa and Dave Mason. It will be aired on PBS American Masters series the same day as the album release.
     American Masters: Jimi Hendrix - Hear My Train A Comin' is directed by the award winning director Bob Smeaton (Festival Express; The Beatles Anthology; Jimi Hendrix: Voodoo Child; Hendrix 70: Live at Woodstock). Susan Lacy is series creator and executive producer of American Masters. The expanded DVD features an array of special features highlighted by never before released film footage featuring performances filmed at Miami Pop, the July 1970 New York Pop Festival and the September 6, 1970 Love & Peace Festival at the Isle Of Fehmarn in Germany—the final performance by Jimi Hendrix. The high definition DVD features new stereo and 5.1 surround mixing by Hendrix's engineer Eddie Kramer. The documentary is a production of Fuse Films and THIRTEEN's American Masters in association with WNET.
