"Queen of the Jazz Singers" Sharon Clark returns from Russian Tour to perform in three events

WASHINGTON - Oct. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- After a whirlwind tour of of nine concert halls in Russia and Kyrgyzstan from September to mid-October, where she is being hailed as a "Queen of the Jazz Singers", vocalist Sharon (Shar-ahn) Clark, performing in concert halls which include the Moscow House of Music, Perm Philharmonic Hall, Surgut Philharmonic Hall, Smolensk Philharmonic Hall and the Bishkek Philharmonic Hall, (LINK (Http://eng.24.kg/culture/2013/10/01/28164.html)), is returning stateside with even more singing to do! Her presence has been requested at three very special events taking place all in October.*

* Smithsonian Jazz Masters (http://smithsonianassociates.org/ticketing/subscriptions/series/detail.aspx?series=175240), in a tribute to Mamie Smith and Bessie Smith, featuring vocalist Sharon Clark, Saturday, October 19th, Washington, DC, 7:30 PM, in Washington, DC's Baird Auditorium

* Sharon Clark, performing for "Gilda's Club Benefit" during the The Fifth Annual New York Musical Improv Festival (http://www.nymif.com) , Sunday, October 20th at 8:30 PM in NYC.

* Sharon Clark and the Chris Grasso Trio, featured guests at the DC Mayors Arts Awards (http://dcarts.dc.gov/page/mayors-arts-awards), Tuesday, October 22, 2013, 7 PM, to an audience of 2500 at Washington's famed Warner Theater.

Ms. Clark, no stranger to a large audience, is happy to get right to work, directly after arriving home. “I am happy to have my audience. I have been looking forward to performing with the Smithsonian again. It is always a great honor, especially to do the great music of Bessie Smith and Mamie Smith. To work with Chris Grasso’s Trio is always a pleasure, especially for Mayor Gray of DC and for the city’s art and culture”, Ms. Clark says. “I am also honored to be a part of the New York Music and Improv Festival on October 20th in New York. To help support “Gilda’s Club” and the importance of cancer prevention is an important cause to me.”
