MANHATTAN, N.Y. - Oct. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- PETER MAKEBISH GALLERY TO HOST ITS FIRST FILM SCREENING OF ART HOUSE FILM SILENT TREATMENT; WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY CONSTANTINE VENETOPOULOS   NEW YORK (October 4, 2013): October will mark a new direction for the Peter Makebish gallery (681 Washington Street, NYC), which is exhibiting a film for the first time. The art-house film Silent Treatment, written and directed by emerging, Greek screenwriter/director Constantine Venetopoulos, will be presented in two consecutive private screenings on October 21, 2013. Founder of the First Time Film Fest -Mandy Ward- will be co-hosting the event in support.   About the film: Abandonment is a language written in silence- a sort of a death, for the dead. Pain seeks refuge in poetry, yet loss is a brick wall we have to learn how to walk through, or we choose to remain in a loop. Silent Treatment is a visual poem that sheds light on just that: the wall.  About the director: Born in Athens Greece, Constantine Venetopoulos has been moving around the globe in search of his true self. He spent his childhood in Greece and Austria, rebelling against norms with poetry as his creative outlet. London was his home during his college years where he delved into business studies. Love led him to New York, which he now calls home since 2006. He was briefly married to his muse, until coming out, and has since been openly gay. He joined his family business Variety Cruises, for over six years, before delving into his true passion for the arts. Constantine, a twice-published author, has been writing all of his life. In 2012, he took a leap of faith into his ultimate passion: filmmaking, by writing and directing the art-house film Silent Treatment. His plans for the future involve directing his first feature film The Forum: a film about a crime committed against a man’s Free Will, by an organization’s mistaken assessment of trespassing his subconscious.   Director’s note: “Having to write my first artist statement at age 33, feels like having to remember how I first learnt how to walk. It comes naturally, yet still it requires strength and courage. My journey in art began with poetry and fiction. Yet I found my words hungered for the visual outlet that is film. I used to feel like a ship at sea, sailing with the wind- with film, for the first time I feel as if I am the wind”.  Peter Makebish: The gallery is located at 681 Washington Street New York New York 10014.
