Dear Master Dragon Wins 2013 Book of the Year by Creative Child Magazine!
Alva Sachs-award-winning children's author launches her fourth book with a unique comic book format along with a magnetic character, Danny Dragon. Alva writes stories that engage, excite, and encourage reading for children. This is a WINNER!
Each year, a two-day event is held in Henderson, Nevada where over a hundred guest reviewers are invited to attend their organized review event at their local convention center. Products are divided into categories and displayed at various review stations. Guest reviewers are asked to review each product at one station, then move to another station, and so on. This allows each product to be given multiple reviews.
Review forms are provided to aid them in evaluating each product. The review forms are to include written comments and a score value based on criteria that corresponds to the product's category.
Upon completion of the event, Creative Child Magazine staff assistants collect all review forms. All scores are tabulated and comments are reviewed.
Based on the scores and comments certain products are then determined to be a finalist for DVD, CD, Book, Game and Toy of the Year. Only one product per category can win a Toy of the Year award, as well as, CD, DVD, Book and Game of the Year. The remaining finalists receive a prestigious Preferred Choice award. The Seal of Excellence is another prestigious award that is given to those products that are not finalists but do exceed expectations based on the criteria for nurturing creativity and education in children.
All products submitted, including award winners, are officially announced on their website, http://www.creativechild.com. In addition, all products submitted are published in their big Holiday issue which is distributed in November.
"This has been an honor for myself as well as my illustrator, Patricia Krebs. Working together side by side for six years and we never tire at the excitement of creating something special each time we collaborate to inspire young readers," remarks Alva. "Many thanks to Creative Child Magazine and all of their judges who particpate to make this all possible. Onwards to the next manuscript and the dreams that dance inside my head for the next book!"
