Historic Westside Cultural Arts Council Host
Fifth Annual Festival of Lights

Atlanta – The 5^th Annual Festival of Lights event which helps celebrate the positive lights on the Westside communities.  Located in English Avenue area -- one of the most historic neighborhoods in Metro Atlanta -- will be held on Oct 12^th and 13^th.

The Festival of Lights is hosted by the Historic Westside Cultural Arts Council, and free to the public to attend.

“When the English Avenue community  decided to have a Festival of Lights back in 2009, our hopes were that the event would help heal as well as continue to build pride among the residents of English Avenue,” said Tracy Bates, President and founding member. “Today we are very pleased to be celebrating our fifth year of bringing our community, Historic Westside,  together for such an important event.”

The event schedule is as follows:

A.    Parade start at 9am

B.     Non-profit Service and Health providers Exhibits Start at 11:00am

C.     After Parade Band Show 11-12

D.    Kids Corner: Games, Pop-corn, Cotton Candy and Snow Cones 11am

E.     Free Hot Dogs, Chips and Coke served at 11, 2, 5,

F.      12:00 Stage Live Entertainment – Sherina Aqeel

G.    1:00pm On board for History Tour and Virtual History Tour online by GA-TECH

H.    2:00 Basketball 3on3 – Darren Rogers

I.        5:00 pm OS/NS Dance Contest – Line Dancing till 7pm and is free to the public:

Saturday, October 12 – (870 Proctor and Lindsay Street)

9 am– 11 am KICK OFF PARADE

11 am – 7 pm OUTDOOR CELEBRATION (carnival, free food, live entertainment, health fair, 3 on 3 Basketball Tournement, Old School/New School Dance contest, History Tour)

Sunday, October 13 – Unity Celebration

7:30 am UNITY PRAISE & WORSHIP SERVICE

1:30 pm – 3 pm UNITY FELLOWSHIP DINNER
