During these exciting assemblies, students are encouraged to fill out an “I’m Now” Pledge card that will be a reminder for each student to stand up to bullying. KidCo has partnered with local schools to assist the teachers and administrators with talking about this sensitive topic. “KidCo provided educational and character building assemblies to the students & staff at our school regarding the prevention of bullying. Not only were the assemblies KidCo presented fun and interactive for the students, they provided tools for them to deal with bullying, whether experiencing it first hand, or as a bystander. KidCo also provided tools for the staff of our school including posters, bracelets, pencils, and ‘caught doing right’ cards to recognize students and their work when they ‘see something, they’re going to say something’ (a KidCo motto). During these exciting assemblies, students are encouraged to fill out an “I’m Now” Pledge card that will be a reminder for each student to stand up to bullying. KidCo has partnered with local schools to assist the teachers and administrators with talking about this sensitive topic,” elaborated Ladd Wolfe third grade teacher, OLWEUS Program Coordinator “Kidco has been coming to our school for monthly assemblies for several months now. I would whole-heartedly recommend a formal partnership with them. They do an excellent job of engaging the kids. And, unlike a lot of other assemblies, the kids seem to remember the lessons after they have left. I have witnessed both staff and students repeating phrases from the assemblies. Lessons like: everyone having value and not being a by-stander to bullying are invaluable messages for the kids to receive. I also appreciate the quality materials Kidco leaves behind to help remember the lessons. Things like posters and bracelets and pencils – the kids really enjoy, “said Carol Goodwin Guidance Counselor, Blix Elementary. KidCo Productions is looking to grow their program by assembling more teams that can go to more schools throughout the Puget Sound. If you have a heart for their mission, please don’t hesitate to visit their website to learn more and to make a donation.
