NEW YORK - Oct. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- I would like to invite you to become a member of the Rupturian Producers Group, for the production of the Sci-Fi film “Rupturian –Extinction on Earth (”.

Rupturian -Extinction on Earth is a Sci-Fi movie that follows the pattern of highly successful films in terms of story, exotic ambiances and worldwide general audiences. It has such a unique, interesting story that has been compared to E.T., the classical Steven Spielberg’s movie about Extra Terrestrials.

The story is based on a real potential threat to Earth: the explosion (supernova) of the binary stars WR104 of the Sagittarius constellation, which according to NASA and ESA, could occur any time, creating a Gamma Ray Burst (GRB) directed to Earth, and causing mass extinction. Such an event is not new to Earth. Four hundred million years ago, the Ordovician Extinction, which is the second largest catastrophic event in the history of our planet, almost finished with all the living beings of the time, and it was also caused by the effects on Earth of a supernova.

For the first movie of the trilogy I prepared two budgets, one of $2M for a version of 90 minutes, and another one of $5M for a version of 120 minutes. For a budget in between, I would adapt the script accordingly.

And then I looked for investors. I went to several places in Internet, but all that I found were scammers trying to get money from me, one way or another; from all over the world:  From UK, several countries in Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa), from the Far East (Cambodia, Bangkok, Philippines), from India, Middle East (Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi, Dubai), even from Ecuador. Some of them with very ingenious schemes. A guy from India wanted me to pay for the conversion from Rupees to Dollars. Several of them provided me with online accounts where the only thing expected for me to do was to transfer the money to my account in the USA, but, I had to pay a huge amount for the cost of transfer, and yes, you guessed right, I had to send the money to pay for the transfer to a third guy via Western Union.  The guy from Ecuador wanted me to pay for the reactivation of the funds, because he had placed them in an ESCROW CODED ACCOUNT –whatever that is.  If I was going to receive a check, I had to send money to pay for a special courier, that also had insurance charges, or I had to have a “Home Equity Line of Credit” account in order to receive the funds.  It’s really unbelievable. The Internet is flooded with scammers.  In what world do we live?

My position to all of them was presented very clearly:  I have for your evaluation a movie project that has taken me years to develop. I have ready for your evaluation several versions of the script, several budgets, business plan and marketing analysis, the procedures from the State of New York to recoup part of the expenses as tax credits, two short films with the same actors and technical crew that are going to work on Rupturian, one video that presents the Rupturian concept that I will utilize as the basis to prepare a trailer, two books on the subject of the Rupturians, several websites and thousands of references in Google about the Rupturians. Please evaluate all these materials, and if you find that this is a good project for you, then provide a loan, invest for a percentage of the profits, or provide a loan with the option to buy equity. My only condition is that you pay for all the expenses to finalize our agreement. In a few words: I put the project, and you put the money.  I am providing you an excellent opportunity, and you don’t take it unless I pay for something, then you are not real; very simple.

A new alternative

But then, I saw several good results that could be obtained via crowd funding campaigns. To go this way, I thought it was better to lower the budget as much as possible, and to do the raising of funds in stages.   I took the $2M budget and I brought it down to $1M. My first campaign will be for $200,000.00 to cover the Production stage.

Our ability to complete the Production stage with $200,000.00 has been corroborated by the work we did for two TV pilot programs, with the same actors and crew that will work on Rupturian:   We produced Renascent ( (30 minutes) with $50,000.00, and Walking with Angels (45 minutes) with $75,000.00.

Crowd funding

Crowd funding is the pooling of small donations from a group of people to obtain a major fund.

In a crowd funding campaign there are two steps:  First, it is necessary to create a “Launch Committee”, which then will participate in the promotions of the campaign once it goes out to the general public.

I’ll start the formation of the launch committee on October 1st, 2013, and the campaign to the general public on October 12, 2013, at the Indiegogo platform.

Can $200,000.00 be raised in a crowd funding at Indiegogo?

Yes it can. It can be done using the communication and integration facilities nowadays available over the Internet. The following are recommendations received from the Indiegogo team:

“The first thing to do in a crowd funding campaign is to form with friends and family a launch committee, who will donate immediately in order to have as much a possible raised in the first  days of the campaign. This same launch committee will then contact their friends promoting the project.

People are waiting to see what you do and will only donate when you already have funds. It’s like Christmas in July.  Other people will give it once you get it.  So your launch committee donates first then you start your promotions. That will get you funded.”

The key is to form a launch committee.

I would like to invite you to participate in my launch committee, becoming a member of the Rupturian Producers Group that I have set up in Facebook.

The Indiegogo campaign will be run under the auspices of “From the Heart Productions (”, a nonprofit organization that assists independent film makers to produce films that are beneficial to society; this makes your donation tax deductible.

Rupturian will be beneficial to society in two ways; first, it presents an image of the Maya community when they were in the splendor of their civilization, and second, profits from the film will support the financial aid that Bernal Foundation (  gives to organizations that assist families affected by natural disasters in the Caribbean region.

What I would like you to do at this moment is to register with the Rupturian Producers Group. I will send an email to the members of the group, as soon as the campaign goes live.

The two alternatives

The opportunity for investors is still available. Regardless of the budget utilized, investors may get up to 50% of the profits of the film; while the other 50% will go to Bernal Foundation. If you are interested in providing funds as a lender or investor, please send me an email.

Thank you in advance for your participation and contribution.
