London Bridge
Now where would you expect to find the London Bridge.  Well, that’s just silly don’t you think?  It’s a little bit like asking who do you think is buried in Grant’s Tomb.  Well, you’d be surprised.  It’s not in London.  It’s in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

That’s right, this original  1831 London Bridge which once spanned the Thames River in London England was dismantled and carried to Lake Havasu City Arizona in 1967.  It is composed of the original masonry of the bridge and reinforced with concrete.

The original granite blocks from the bridge were carefully numbered and catalogued so upon their arrival in Lake Havasu City, they could be reassembled to form a new incarnation of the original London Bridge.

The bridge is an immensely popular tourist attraction, second only to the Grand Canyon when it comes to sites to see in Arizona.  The bridge area is adorned with cafe’s, bars, restaurants and a variety of interesting shops and sights to please not only the visitors but the Lake Havasu residents as well.
