Bank of Oak Ridge Announces John Brubaker Joins as Regional President of Boone/High Country Market

OAK RIDGE, N.C. - Oct. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Formerly President and CEO of High Country Bank in Boone, NC, which he helped found in 1998, John Brubaker has more than 40 years of banking industry experience. When High Country Bank was later acquired by Yadkin Valley Bank, he served as Regional President for bank operations in Watauga and Avery Counties, and as President of Main Street Investments, a subsidiary of the bank. Previously, Brubaker served as Senior Vice President for Centura Bank and Nationsbank. Earlier in his career, he was City Executive and Vice President with North Carolina National Bank (NCNB).

A Boone Area Chamber of Commerce Board Member, Brubaker received his B.A. in Business Administration from Catawba College. He is a former Dean of the NC School of Banking for the NC Bankers Association; Past President of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce and Boone Sunrise Rotary Club; Past Chair of the Watauga Economic Commission and Watauga County United Way; Past Board of Directors Member and Treasurer of the Watauga Arts Council; and Past Board of Directors Member of the Watauga Education Committee.
