MONTEBELLO, Calif. - Oct. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Han-Schneider International Children’s Foundation (HSICF) will welcome approximately 400 attendees at its 5th Annual Silent Auction and Benefit Dinner on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013. Returning to the Taglyan Cultural Complex in Los Angeles, the event theme, “Spreading Joy Through Compassion,” will showcase how the compassion of their supporters have made a positive impact and brought joy to the lives of thousands of innocent children worldwide. The mission of HSICF is to provide essential needs to orphans and children in some of the most impoverished nations around the world, including Tanzania, Cambodia and North Korea.

The evening will kick off with a cocktail reception, hor d’oeuvres and a silent auction featuring an impressive variety of items, including tropical vacation packages, custom artwork, sporting event tickets, fine wine, dining certificates, Las Vegas show tickets, and many more. This will be followed by a multi-course dinner and a live auction. The dinner program will include special keynote speaker MPAK’s Steve Morrison, who lived in an orphanage in Korea for eight years before being adopted at age 14 by an American family. There will also be a presentation from HSICF staff members and volunteers who went on a humanitarian trip to Tanzania earlier this year.

As the foundation’s largest annual fundraiser, all proceeds from the dinner and silent auction provide much-needed funds for future food shipments to the orphanages supported by the HSICF. Major sponsors for the benefit event are TwinMed LLC and The Mint Collection. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The silent auction will begin at 7 p.m. and dinner will be served at 8 p.m. Tickets are $75 presale and $100 at the door.

About Han-Schneider International Children’s Foundation:

Han-Schneider International Children’s Foundation (HSICF), a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization, provides basic needs to help improve the health and well-being of orphans around the world. The foundation’s purpose is to realize the vision of its late founder, Sang Man (Sam) Han, once an impoverished orphan in Korea, which was to establish the necessary infrastructure that will enable an ongoing supply of food, medicine and clothing to save the lives of defenseless children in some of the most impoverished nations, including Cambodia, Tanzania, and North Korea. HSICF hopes to continue expanding its work – the sponsoring and maintenance of centers that provide marginalized children the opportunity for safety, good health, affection, and most significantly, the precious commodity of hope – to other various countries in need.
