Cocobay Casual Wear Donates Sandals to University of Miami-Jackson Pediatric Center

ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Sept. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- Cocobay Casual Wear recently donated flip flops and sandals to the University of Miami-Jackson Pediatric Center to help pediatric patients in need. The Jackson Pediatric Center provides quality skilled nursing care with intensive early intervention to children with special medical needs. The hospital, located on the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Medical Center campus, allows close proximity to emergency services but also convenient access to all the UM specialists. The sandals and footwear donated by Cocobay will be given to children who are in need of this basic requirement and who may not otherwise be able to afford the sandals.

Cocobay owners Christopher and Melissa Morrison have a close relationship with the University of Miami as alumni. Chris received his undergraduate degree in Business and Melissa her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. “The sentiments behind the donation were aimed at helping the children at the Jackson Pediatric Center have access to an additional resource they might not otherwise benefit from,” said Chris. “Jackson Pediatric already provides such a wealth of services for both the parents and kids and we thought that providing the hospital with sandals was a good way to improve the quality of life of these special kids in need.” Morrison is correct in his claim regarding the resources at the children’s hospital; Jackson Pediatric boasts national rankings in six pediatric specialties and was one of 87 facilities that made the rankings in at least one of the 10 specialties analyzed for the 2013-14 Best Children's Hospitals.
