By: Exposed PR Flipping the venue three times over three consecutive days to accommodate three distinct events is a test in itself—add in the absence of running water, electricity, restrooms, or any conveniences of a typical venue, place it on the roof of a parking lot, and the fete is next to impossible. CREaM Founder, Randy Fisher states, “For us, the more challenging the venue, the happier we are. We’re producing three of the largest Festival events, featuring almost 100 chefs feeding 9,000 guests, on a third level rooftop parking deck in the middle of the Hudson River. Crews will be working 24 hours to turn the venue for these back-to-back events. Clearly, we are very happy this year.” Event elements are currently being constructed off-site and will be brought in for the event. These items include a 35,000 square foot specialty tent structure, forty individual chef tents, guest seating, lighting, cooking equipment for 30 chefs at each event, and walk-in refrigeration units. CREaM has four days to build the venue and just two days to disassemble it. In addition, thousands of pounds of food will be moved into the venue each day, prepared onsite and served to the approximately 9,000 hungry guests. The festival kicks off with the Blue Moon Burger Bash presented by Pat Lafrieda Meats hosted by Rachael Ray where 25 of NYC’s best burgers will compete for the coveted People’s Choice Award. NYCWFF will feature two new events in this year’s series—Jets + Chefs: The Ultimate Tailgate and La Sagra Sunday Slices. The Ultimate Tailgate will feature 28 NYC chefs and their best tailgate dishes. La Sagra Sunday Slices will host 15 of NYC’s best-known pizzaiolas and their rendition of authentic Neapolitan style pizzas. Fisher reflects, “In less than a week’s time we will convert every rooftop parking space into either a kitchen, a dining room, or a living room. Half the deck will be tented and all of it will be bathed in Tivoli lighting. Where Honda Civics once parked, chefs will be churning out burgers, paella, and pizza. And 48 hours after the last guest departs, you won’t even know we were there.” ### For more information or to request an interview, please contact Sarah Rodriguez of Exposed PR at 954.599.1517 or sarah@xpsdpr.com.
