Exclusive International Gourmet Society Opens the Door to Non-Members

SYDNEY - Sept. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- The Australian chapter of exclusive gourmet society Chaîne des Rôtisseurs are holding their annual Intronisation Ceremony and Gala Dinner at the Shangri-La in Sydney on Saturday, 26 October 2013 and they are throwing open the doors to interested non-members.

The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is the oldest and largest food and wine society in the world. And while our society may be vintage, our events are cutting edge!

In Australia, there are seven local chapters based in Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Cairns. Chaîne members are epicureans, chefs, restaurateurs, hoteliers, oenologists, winery owners, sommeliers, food and wine educators, and others who are interested in the finest of dining and life experiences.

Chaîne members enjoy the camaraderie of friends at dinners and a variety of events, from local dinners where chefs and sommeliers bring together the best of food and wine, to international events, where old-world manners and impeccable cuisine bring members of diverse cultures together.

New members of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs are intronised in an elaborate ceremony, where they pledge to honour the art of cuisine and the culture of the table, before being dubbed with a sword and presented with their regalia.

On the 26 October, the Intronisation Ceremony will commence at 5pm, followed by canapés and champagne in Blue Bar on 36, overlooking the harbour, before proceeding to the Gala Dinner for a seven-course dégustation with matching wines, created by feted Chef de Cuisine, Steven Krasicki.

There will be interludes by the young artists of Pacific Opera, who produce fresh, vibrant opera with a twist, delighting audiences and providing a platform for the operatic stars of tomorrow.
