SOUTH JORDAN, Utah - Sept. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Jordan Credit Union (JCU) created Project 100 in 2009 in an effort to reward Utah’s outstanding educators. Traditionally, the program awarded one educator per week with $100 in recognition of their hard work and contributions to their school. This year, JCU has decided to award $100 to two educators per week. The financial institution awarded over $2900 to employees in both the Canyons and Jordan School Districts during the 2012-2013 school year. As a result of the recent increase in recipients, JCU will award over $5000 to school district employees this school year. Six recipients have been chosen so far this year. The first to receive her award was Deb Dolph from River’s Edge Elementary.

In explanation of the program and its goals, Brad Clegg, Director of Communications at Jordan Credit Union stated, "We created the Project 100 Program to help recognize all of the outstanding employees in the school districts we serve. We have a wonderful relationship with the schools and employees in Canyons and Jordan school districts. We know how hard they work to provide a top-notch education to the kids in our community. They sacrifice so much to help provide a better future for our children. This is just a small way we can give something back to them."

Additional Details

The awarded teachers are nominated by the principals of their schools based on the contributions they have made to the educational experiences of their students. The recipients of the award do not need to be members of JCU to be nominated or receive the award. Principals are asked to send nominations for this award on a weekly basis. JCU then selects a winner via drawing every Friday of the school year.
