TROY, N.Y. - Sept. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- 39 Ways to Not Kill Your Best Friend:  Tales of Caution for Dog Lovers

Many of us share our lives with dogs, but how much do we really know about our four legged friends? 39 Ways to Not Kill Your Best Friend is a must read for all dog lovers.

Set against a real-life backdrop, it shares stories of companion dogs that have tragically died, or narrowly escaped death, at the hands of well-intentioned owners.

Veterinary surgeon Dr. Samson-French delivers harrowing accounts of good intentions gone awry. From choke collars and heatstroke to puppy mills and greyhound racing, she tackles polarizing issues head on as she reinforces the do’s and don’ts of responsible canine care.

This is a must read that no serious dog owner can afford to miss.  What you learn here could save your pet’s life.

A dog with no name will be fed for three days with the purchase of this book.

Dogs With No Names:  In Pursuit of Courage, Hope and Purpose

On the vast reserve lands of North America roam millions of unwanted dogs - dogs with no names, no home, no one to love them. In a bold trial venture to curb their unbridled populations, Dr. Judith Samson - French reveals to us the mysteries of canines gone wild, delves into the complex bond between people and dogs, and opens the door to controversies that test us all.

Brought to life through vivid photographs, these compelling stories of dogs with no names play out with the unpredictable outcomes of real life - sometimes upbeat and hopeful, often devastating and heartbreaking, always with a powerful message. These unforgettable animals and their struggles will stay with you long after you turn the final page.

One hundred percent of the profits from the sale of this book will be donated to the Dogs With No Names project.

A veterinary clinician and surgeon with over 20 years of experience, Dr. Judith Samson-French owns and operates a veterinary hospital in the heart of the beautiful Rocky Mountain foothills.  A graduate of McGill University (B.Sc.) and the University of Alberta (M.Sc.), she received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College.  Dr. Samson-French is also a recipient of the prestigious Canadian Veterinary Medical Association Humane Award.

She is currently leading a first-time trial project that involves implanting contraceptives in unwanted dogs on native reserve lands to prevent the births of countless dogs with no names. 100% of profits from the sales of Dogs With No Names are donated to the Dogs With No Names project, of which Samson-French is founder.
