TFC’s BRO Channel intensifies male programming as it marks its 2nd year

Da King of Philippine Movies leads BRO’s 2nd anniversary offering

QUEZON CITY, Philippines - Sept. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- The Filipino Channel’s (TFC) BRO Channel levels up its male programming further as it marks its 2nd year of worldwide broadcast this October.  After two years of taking overseas Filipinos (OFs) to the ringside of the biggest Philipine sporting events, entertaining our kababayans with well-loved comedy classics, and empowering them with informative lifestyle programs,  BRO channel gears up for round two with no less than the “Da King of Philippine Movies” Fernando Poe Jr.

“Da King of Philippine Movies” reigns supreme once again as BRO Channel brings back his iconic films to honor his memory as a Filipino idol and for his fans worldwide to continue enjoying his contributions to the Philippine movie industry, rightfully on his 74th birthday.   Consistent with its claim “Ang Lakas ng Dating Mo” TFC’s male-skewed channel delivers “FPJ: Idolo Ng Pilipino on BRO” where four powerhouse movies highlighting values which describe the ideal and esteemed Filipino man, rolls out each month until the end of the year.  These values include:  “matapang at matatag” (valiant), “mapag-aruga sa mga bata” (nurturing towards children), “magalang at mapagmahal sa kababihan” (respectful and loving of women), “may takot sa Diyos” (God-fearing), “makabayan” (patriotic), “mapagmahal sa pamilya” (a devoted family man), “may malasakit sa kapwa” ( has utmost concern for others), “matapat” (has moral integrity), “matulungin” (always ready to help the needy), and “masipag at mapursigi sa trabaho” (hardworking).

In October, BRO delivers FPJ’s biggest action hits, highlighting the courage and endurance of Pinoy males: “Kapag Puno na Ang Salop,” “Agila ng Maynila,” Batas ng .45,” at “Pagbabalik ng Probinsyano.”

The following month or November, BRO shifts gears as it airs FPJ’s movies which show Filipinos’ love for children: “Ang Leon at Ang Daga,” “Isang Bala Ka Lang,” “Ang Leon at ang Kuting,” “Dito Sa Pitong Gatang,” and “Walang Matigas Na Tinapay Sa Mainit Na Kape.”

For its last salvo in December, BRO shows the soft side of the Filipino “macho” as it brings movies where respect for women is encouraged.  These movies are “Ang Daigdig Ko’y Ikaw,” “Little Christmas Tree,” “Ayos Na… Ang Kasunod,” and “Ang Syota Kong Balikbayan.”

FPJ movie timeblocks also started airing on ABS-CBN’s channels in the Philippines as anchored on fitting themes when it recently acquired exclusive rights to the action legend’s library of classic movie titles that FPJ starred in, wrote, directed, and produced.  On BRO channel, promotion was done on-air as well as in-program.  Comedy skit “Gag U” for one, presented FPJ-inspired skits and impersonators in honor of “Da King.”

Aside from “FPJ: Idolo Ng Pilipino on BRO,” the channel will also air the “UAAP Season 76 Finals” as well as “Philippine Azkals Philppine Peace Cup” in October as part of the channel's 2nd anniversary.  Enjoy the anniversary offering on BRO anytime, anywhere via TFC’s official online service TFC.tv
