International Internship Program Supporting Engineering Technology & Manufacturers Development in FL

FLATE Center of excellence in manufacturing at HCC in Brandon is searching for potential manufacturing companies that are interested in place new engineering technology graduates from the Basque region of Spain.
 
TAMPA, Fla. - Sept. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- FLATE (Florida Advanced Technological Education (http://www.fl-ate.org)) center of excellence in manufacturing at Hillsborough Community College (HCC) in Brandon is searching for potential manufacturing companies that are interested in place new engineering technology graduates from the Basque region of Spain. This Iberian program is fully financed by the Basque government. Expenses and compensation cover salary, travel expenses, accommodation, as well as health insurance. Participants who take part in the program will work in a Florida manufacturing company for six months. All participants will be paid by the Basque Department of Industry which means companies hiring interns do not have to pay the trainees.  Placement starts in November.

To participate, or to hire and/or enquire about the program and interns, host companies are asked to fill out the attached “Global Training” internship offer form which includes a brief profile of the host company. This form is available on the FLATE website (http://www.fl-ate.org/images/front/docs/International%20I...). The applicant/intern will also fill out a form that ensures student’s goal(s) align with the company’s overall mission.  Deadline to submit the application is Oct. 25 , 2013.

The International Technician Training for students is a FLATE-led initiative to support high quality, international educational experience for Florida’s community college students and educators. This National Science Foundation (NSF) Office of International Science and Engineering (OISE)-supported project, is one of eight pilot projects awarded to NSF Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Centers, and seeks to create an outstanding educational experience for educators and students enrolled in the FLATE-created two year, statewide A.S. degree in engineering technology (http://madeinflorida.org/engineering-technology-degree/e-...).
