Follow on Google News | SPG's Crystral Dunn wows with a hat trick!Crystal Dunn notched the first hat trick of her career as the No. 5 North Carolina women’s soccer team ended its two-match losing streak by defeating Miami 4-0 Sunday at Cobb Stadium.
Summer Green scored the other goal, converting a penalty kick with 4:07 left in the match. UNC (8-2, 2-2 ACC) outshot the Hurricanes (6-3, 1-3) 22-2 in the match and had a 10-1 edge in shots on goal. The Tar Heels outshot the Hurricanes 9-1 in the first half and led 1-0 at halftime. Dunn’s first goal, her seventh goal of the year, Dunn came after she won possession about 25 yards out, dribbled to her left to the top of the box and struck a hard, low shot from 18 yards into the lower right side of the net. Katie Brown assisted on Dunn’s second goal at 63:39, and Paige Nielsen and Satara Murray assisted on Dunn’s third goal at 70:07. The Tar Heels will continue their road trip Thursday when they play at ACC newcomer Pittsburgh. Game time is 7 p.m. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN3 and will mark the first meeting in history between the Tar Heels and the Panthers. End
