Follow on Google News | Art Therapy Retreat in AurovilleAuroville Retreat announces a 2-day Art Therapy Retreat to be held on 30Nov - 1Dec
The aim of the Art Therapy Retreat is to create an opportunity for participants to have fun, relax, become inspired and discover or rediscover aspects of the SELF that have been neglected by the reality of everyday life. In our left-brain dominated society we neglect the creative right side. Come nourish the right side of your brain, and regain some of your childhood spontaneity and joy through this creatively playful and enlightening journey. The facilitator for this retreat is Tia Pleiman. She is an Art Therapist living and working in the International Township of Auroville in Tamil Nadu, South India. Tia works in several Tamil villages around Auroville using Art Therapy as a building block for the development of Human Unity, a tool for interpersonal communication, self- expression and the acquisition of new skills. She uses art to provide participants with a voice where one may not have existed, as well as to build confidence, self-esteem and a sense of cultural identity. The retreat starts on Friday evening with a dinner, but participants can also start on Saturday. The retreat ends on Sunday at 5pm. The Retreat will be held in Auroville, an international community 20 minutes from Puducherry in South India. It is a quiet little town, with around 2000 inhabitants. Once a barren area, Auroville has become green, thanks to reforestation. Auroville has a semitropical climate. Temperatures peak in May/June (the Summer months), and go beyond 40 degrees, while in winter (November to March) the day temperatures are between 24 and 30. The Monsoon in October/November brings the temperatures down. For more information, visit our website www.aurovilleretreat.org.
