“I chose the pop art style with bright, happy colors because the paintings are meant to uplift, encourage and inspire,” Scofield said. “My goal is for the viewer to leave each of the paintings with a vibe of joy and even better, the idea to move on and pay that joy forward.”
The featured painting is based on the Biblical concept of the golden rule; that is, treating others as you would like for them to treat you. “Particularly in today’s strained global socio-political environment, loving one’s neighbor is an important message,” according to Scofield. “Exhibiting with prestigious gallery AHA at the DUMBO Arts Festival is both an honor and a thrill.”
“AHA Fine Art is excited to exhibit Christi Scofield's Pop Up Theology painting, The Golden Rule, for the DUMBO Arts Festival," says Brooklyn gallerist Francesca Arcilesi.
The Golden Rule is a work of acrylic on canvas and measures 30” x 30”. Arcilesi & Homberg Fine Art is located at 111 Front Street, Suite 222, Brooklyn, NY 11201. The gallery is open Wednesday-Sunday, 12-6 pm and by appointment, with longer hours during the festival.
