MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. - Sept. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- In a recent list released by New York Motor Insurance, the Honda Insight (http://www.middletownhonda.com/models/2013-honda-insight/) was named the best car for New York City drivers, landing the #1 spot in a lineup of 10 vehicles. The company praised the Insight for its impressive fuel efficiency even in stop-and-go city driving. At 41 mpg city/44 mpg highway,* drivers can save a lot of extra money on fuel when compared to other small city cars, which is especially nice in New York City where these savings can help defer some of the high parking costs.

The Honda Insight managed to beat popular compacts like the Hyundai Accent and the Mini Cooper, as well as even the prestigious Audi A3. Another acclaimed Honda model, the 2013 Civic Sedan (http://www.middletownhonda.com/models/2013-honda-civic/), also made it onto the list at #7. Praised for a high level of comfort and convenience for its price range, the Civic gets a bit lower efficiency rating at 28 mpg city/39 mpg highway,* but it makes up for the difference with the Insight by offering features like a standard rearview camera to help with parallel parking.

Drivers who plan to use their vehicle mostly for city driving will love the efficiency of the Insight's 1.3L i-VTEC engine with Honda's Integrated Motor Assist (IMA). The IMA system supplies an extra boost in torque and horsepower when the standard gasoline engine needs a little extra help, so drivers don't have to worry about sluggish acceleration at stop lights, an effect that can sometimes plague hybrid vehicles.

With room for 5 passengers and a hatchback design to accommodate more cargo, the Insight is versatile enough to handle trips around town with ease. Those looking for a vehicle to take out of the city on the weekends may be more suited to the Civic Sedan, as it can seat 5 adults more comfortably than the Insight.

New York's own Middletown Honda is pleased to have two vehicles on New York Motor Insurance's list, and drivers from all over Orange County are encouraged to stop by their dealership (http://www.middletownhonda.com/our-dealership/) to test drive either of these models. Their sales department is open seven days per week.
