Videojet® Announces the Launch of V458-D UV Fluorescent / Human Readable Ink

HUNTINGDON, U.K. - Sept. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- This ink was formulated for specialty dual-purpose applications that require both machine readable fluorescent and human readable codes.  Key applications include automotive and automated parts marking, specialised postal bar codes, and track and trace solution codes.

Primary Benefits

·Enhanced productivity provided through machine readable and visually  distinctive codes

o    The ink produces a red, light-emitting fluorescent code on multi-color background substrates when illuminated by a UV light source.

o    High speed machine-readable red fluorescent codes are achievable immediately after printing, even when coding on multi-colored surfaces such as caps, litho-printed labels and other decorated products – even in conditions normally challenging for conventional (e.g., blue) fluorescent inks and camera-reading systems.

o    A human-visible pink color code will also appear on multi-colored background products (even when not illuminated). Unlike UV fluorescent-only codes, this feature can be important for quickly performing visual code quality checks immediately after printing or during a downstream verification process

o    As seen in the picture to the right, a more distinct, higher contrast V458 ink image (lower half of picture) is produced compared to similar 16-5710 legacy ink

·         Code assurance is derived through a dye-based formula

Reliable ink jet codes can be produced using any standard 1000 Line ink jet printer
