RALEIGH, N.C. - Sept. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- The Candle Light Love series will launch in April, 2014. Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas (LPC) plans to release two new books in the series every quarter. Each novel will have a 55,000 to 60,000 word count, and the stories may be set in the United States or abroad. One goal of the series is to show characters struggling with their faith—much as they did in the Old and New Testament. Candle Light Love characters are flawed but saved through the blood of Christ and continue to work out their salvation through the choices they make—both good and bad.

Candle Light Love, Key Elements

* Strong, clean contemporary romances reflecting positive, God-honoring values.

* Relationships that include emotional intimacy, but acknowledge the desire of physical attraction.

* Some mention of faith and spiritual growth, but a conversion experience is not required.

* Each story should focus on an emotional romance between believable characters, with a satisfying conclusion to the sustained conflict dividing the hero and heroine.

* Alcohol consumption, gambling, dancing, and staying in the same house (but not bedroom) allowed. Drug use, unless part of the character’s growth arc, is discouraged. Some profanity allowed, but ideally the write should be able to craft the scene with enough emotion to create the affect without dishonoring Christ.

* When violence is shown, it should be organic to the story and not sensationalized.

* Sex can be alluded to, such as characters having relations in the past or within a present relationship, but not shown. In any case, sexual activity outside the bounds of marriage should reflect negative consequences.

* Word count of 55,000 to 60,000 word

At this time we are only considering submissions from agented authors from respected CBA literary agencies and authors we have met at Christian writers' conferences.

Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas (http://lighthousepublishingofthecarolinas.com/) launched its general book publishing division in 2007. We embrace the new book publishing business model that favors eBooks and Print on Demand over long press runs and warehouse inventories. Our authors include Christy Award winners and new writers whose books found their first home with us.

LPC believes in the power of story. We have one standard for judging a work: Is it biblical? Not biblical as in preaching or teaching, but rather could the story, scenes, and theme be overlaid with Old and New Testament narratives? When our books project an agenda (and all stories have an agenda), they point to the goodness of God and his unfailing love, a love that is expressed most often through the lives of others. Our inspirational fiction delivers a refreshing reading experience and a faith-affirming view of life.
