Follow on Google News | Pink pineapple to take over Baptist Health for National Breast Cancer Awareness MonthFor the first time in Baptist Health South Florida’s history, its decades-old green pineapple logo will turn pink for the month of October.
By: Baptist Health South Florida Baptist Health includes Baptist Outpatient Services and Baptist, South Miami, Baptist Children’s, Doctors, Homestead, Mariners and West Kendall Baptist Hospitals, along with Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute and Baptist Health Medical Group. Baptist Health performed more than 66,000 mammograms in 2012. The following Baptist Health locations will be lit in pink: - Baptist Medical Plaza at Brickell, 2660 Brickell Avenue - Baptist Medical Plaza at Coral Gables,10 Giralda Avenue - Baptist Medical Plaza at Davie, 4741 South University Drive - Mariners Hospital and its Medical Arts Building, 91500 Overseas Highway, Tavernie - Homestead Hospital and its Medical Arts Building,975 Baptist Way (Campbell Drive and SW 147 Avenue) - Doctors Hospital and its Medical Arts Building,5000 University Drive - South Miami Hospital and its Medical Arts Building,6200 SW 73rd St. (Sunset Drive and SW 62 Avenue) - West Kendall Baptist Hospital and its Medical Arts Building,9555 SW 162nd Ave. Since 2000, people have associated the color pink with breast cancer awareness. It has a different meaning for everyone: a symbol of hope and strength for survivors, an opportunity to offer support for those affected and a reminder to be proactive about breast health by getting a mammogram.
