MIAMI - Sept. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Baptist Health South Florida’s green pineapple logo will go pink in October in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All advertisements, websites and social media platforms will sport a pink pineapple logo to commemorate those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. Baptist Health Breast Center, one of Baptist Health’s centers of excellence, will be especially pink to commemorate those touched by breast cancer.

Baptist Health includes Baptist Outpatient Services and Baptist, South Miami, Baptist Children’s, Doctors, Homestead, Mariners and West Kendall Baptist Hospitals, along with Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute and Baptist Health Medical Group. Baptist Health performed more than 66,000 mammograms in 2012.

The following Baptist Health locations will be lit in pink:

- Baptist Medical Plaza at Brickell, 2660 Brickell Avenue

- Baptist Medical Plaza at Coral Gables,10 Giralda Avenue

- Baptist Medical Plaza at Davie, 4741 South University Drive

- Mariners Hospital and its Medical Arts Building, 91500 Overseas Highway, Tavernie

- Homestead Hospital and its Medical Arts Building,975 Baptist Way (Campbell Drive and SW 147 Avenue)

- Doctors Hospital and its Medical Arts Building,5000 University Drive

- South Miami Hospital and its Medical Arts Building,6200 SW 73rd  St. (Sunset Drive and SW 62 Avenue)

- West Kendall Baptist Hospital and its Medical Arts Building,9555 SW 162nd Ave.

Since 2000, people have associated the color pink with breast cancer awareness. It has a different meaning for everyone: a symbol of hope and strength for survivors, an opportunity to offer support for those affected and a reminder to be proactive about breast health by getting a mammogram.
