Andover, MA, September 12, 2013--eZuce, Inc., a leading providing of open-standards enterprise unified communications for private clouds, announced today Update 7 of their groundbreaking openUC 4.6 open standards based Unified Communications platform. As part of the company’s commitment to open source, they have also made a select number of new features available in the community edition, sipXecs.

openUC Update 7 brings full-featured Unified Communications, with voice, conferencing, and IM to the enterprise at a fraction of the cost of most similar products. It enhances the product’s existing ease-of-use and operating simplicity and brings a new level of functionality to a product that deployed easily in public or private cloud installations.  openUC can be readily integrated via open APIs with most leading enterprise applications, including customer relationship management systems, document sharing, and email. It makes it easy to replace legacy PBX systems with a modern, software-only solution that fits perfectly into an IT department’s virtual environment.  Beyond typical PBX functionality, openUC allows an organization to easily add new functionality, such as IM, video conferencing, and file-sharing to IP voice and conferencing.

“This marks a new level of feature sets added to openUC, making it an even stronger player in the marketplace,” notes Martin Steinmann, CEO and co-founder. “As the Unified Communications market is expected to continue to grow, there is a real need in the market for enterprise-grade communications at a fraction of the cost of most proprietary solutions, architected from the ground up for the cloud, and ready to be integrated with a wide range of other productivity applications, from CMS to CRM.”

A brief list of the features added with Update 7 includes:

·         Multi-Level Administration

·         High Availability Instant Messaging Services

·         EnhancedCall Queuing

·         Authentication Using Radius, CAS, SAML, or oauth

·         Ability to Assign Emergency Location Information to Users and User Groups

“Virtually all of these feature additions came directly from customer requests,” notes Michael Picher, Director of Technical Services and one of the lead engineers on the project. “We’re always looking to lead the marketplace in giving users a simple, intuitive platform with the features that they truly want, rather than one that’s top-heavy, complex, and feature-bloated.
