Mackey Twins Art Gallery presents TWIN at the Schomburg

MT VERNON, N.Y. - Sept. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Mackey Twins Art Gallery, Inc. is pleased to present a weekend art show featuring twin artists, Terry & Jerry Lynn, at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture beginning Saturday, September 28th at 2:00 PM; sponsored by Black Enterprise, The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, and Harlem Arts Alliance.  The event also marks the first twin artists and twin gallerists collaboration.

A large selection of original art will be showcased to view and purchase, with most work created exclusively for the exhibition. For the first time TWIN is exhibiting in New York with an Artist Talk on Saturday, September 28th at 4:30 PM and Sunday, September 29th at 2:30 PM with different topics each day. Moderated by Janell Hazelwood, Associate Producer of Black Enterprise.

The story of TWIN is one of the most intriguing in artist history.  Each is a talented artist in his own right, but it’s their collaborative artistic genius which has won them acclaim for creating some of the most vibrant, exciting art the industry has seen in recent years. A true artistic phenomenon, the painting styles and techniques of TWIN are as connected as their physical presence.  Their artwork is among the permanent collections of Marriot Hotels, Bell South Corporation, PNC Bank, Saturn Corporation, Harrah’s Entertainment, and the University of Oklahoma. Private collectors include Earl Graves, BET Founder Bob Johnson, Yolanda Adams, Kem, Bryant Gumble and Kanye West.

Join us for live jazz, fine wine, hors d’oeuvres and an authentic fine art experience.

Mackey Twins Art Gallery, Inc. is more than the identical images of the owners.

Their commitment has remained consistent since they started the gallery about ten years ago: to develop communities of collectors, by exposing people to artists of color; to educate on the responsibility of supporting artists; and to create options for ownership of original art work.
