Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. West Virginia Community Hero Award Winner

Sept. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. ® National Community Hero Awards are presented to an officer who has gone above and beyond his/her role as a police officer, or to officers who have made a difference in their community.

Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. is proud to announce the West Virginia State Community Hero Award recipient for 2013 is: Chief Brian Oxley of Nitro Police Department, Nitro, West Virginia.

Chief Oxley participated in the West Virginia Auxiliary Committee’s, Heroes and Handcuffs baseball game held on August 24, 2013. Help was considered an understatement to our auxiliary members. Oxley contacted the president of little league baseball to be involved in this outreach event, as well as secured the baseball fields and recruited several other officers to join in our efforts. He was an invaluable asset to our planning and executing the day smoothly.
