Follow on Google News | Buffalo entrepreneurs make fitness accountability personal with launch of wochampBuffalo entrepreneurs Rick Buczynski and Courtney Hamp just launched wochamp, a fitness accountability service. Members get access to work out reminder calls and texts, accountability tracking and more.
By: Wochamp Wochamp began as a simple way for Rick and Courtney to reach some fitness goals, and it worked so well they expanded it to share with others. Members may choose to workout 3 or 5 times per week, and they are shown a clean drag-and-drop interface to schedule their workouts. Once scheduled, wochamp’s system will generate an interactive phone call and text message at the appropriate time to remind a user of their fitness commitment. This program encourages accountability with an easy to understand record of a user’s workout history. It advises users of the total number of scheduled workouts, along with how many were completed or canceled. In addition, users can set custom fitness goals, and wochamp lets them easily see how many goals they have crushed for added encouragement. Sign-up is available now at http://www.wochamp.com. Creating the custom platform for wochamp took many hours of coding. It uses a combination of multiple different services to enable SMS and phone calls as well as the ability to set your workouts in your local time zone across the U.S. Wochamp’s creators understand software is always a work in progress, and are continuing to build on the base platform to offer more value to their members. Future additions to wochamp will include deep social integration to share workout completion rates, as well as methods for members to encourage and hold each other accountable to their goals. End
