BERKELEY, Calif. - Sept. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Basic Beat, a new fusion band out of Berkeley, had an excellent outing at the famous Solano Stroll in Berkeley on 9/8/13.  This band plays their own brand of fusion, incorporating Rock, Reggae, Blues, Country, and Latin Rock styles.

Check them out at

Their 4 sets (1 hour each) were comprised of about half original material by band member and lead guitarist David Matela, whose music reflects the fusion mix above.  The rest of Basic Beat's music is an eclectic mix spanning decades of popular music, from Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Pride And Joy" and the Grateful Dead's "Fire On The Mountain" to Carlos Santana's "Smooth", Dave Carter's "Crocodile Man" and Chris Smither's "I Feel The Same".

The sound levels were well managed; the band sounded very musical and not "muddy" or overly loud.  The guitar work, bass, vocals and rhythms were exciting and blended very well.

Basic Beat is an exciting dance band, available for bookings throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.  BOOKING: (510) 735-1614.
