INcubes Successfully Launches Five New Startup Companies at Demo Day

TORONTO - Sept. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Over 300 angel investors, venture capitalists, and members of the international business community came out on September 10th for INcubes’ fourth Demo Day event.

After three intensive months of acceleration, much hard work and many late nights, Lightning (http://www.lightningplatform.com/), Fashion Forward (http://www.fashion-forward.ca/), Eureka (http://joineureka.com/), Qoints (http://qoints.com/), and Alertly (http://www.alertly.co/) took the stage to present their companies to investors, potential customers and members of the startup community.

"Early indications are very positive," noted Bryan Watson, Director of Special Projects at INcubes. "So far, we know  a number of companies have been approached with investment terms and a number of potential customers have identified  themselves to our graduates following Demo Day. We are pleased."

The event was full of surprises including the revealing  of Alertly’s prototype and their announcement that the product is now available for pre order on their website: Alertly.co!

"I was pretty sure INcubes was doing some great things before I came to Toronto to see it firsthand. Demo Day proved me correct," noted Reese Schroeder, Managing Director, Motorola Solutions Venture Capital who joined us from Chicago. "I thought all of the companies were well-prepared and made a solid case for themselves. Well done!"

The keynote address was given by INcubes mentor Renata Quintini, Partner at Felicis Ventures in Silicon Valley. Renata gave the audience insight into the mind of a VC and broke down her “formula” for judging risk and choosing companies, which  has been proven by Felicis’ strong track record of choosing successful and market disrupting companies - three of which are Canadian!

The event was broadcast live by INcubes alumnus Videogami (http://videogami.co/) and hosted by ITBusiness.ca (http://www.itbusiness.ca/). Footage of the event is available on ITbusiness.ca (http://www.itbusiness.ca/news/live-webcast-incubes-demo-d...)

Finally, INcubes would like to thank all of our sponsors, including the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (http://www.cybf.ca/), EY Canada (http://www.ey.com/CA/en/Home), Wavefront (http://www.wavefrontac.com/), Gardiner Roberts LLP (http://www.gardiner-roberts.com/), and the City of Toronto (http://www.toronto.ca/). Demo Day would not have been a success without them.
