NEW YORK - Sept. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- On Sunday, September 8th 2013, New York City fashion enthusiasts gathered at Helen Mills to get a first look at Project Runway Alumni, Korto Momolu’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection entitled “Enchanted Fantasy.” It was a packed venue.  Among the attendees were VIP guests: Grammy nominated Singer/Songwriter, Shontelle; Supermodel, Sessilee Lopez; Singer Gary Michael Houston; and Actress, Elise Neal.

As the night progressed and the music grew louder; guests grabbed a cocktail provided by I-G Creative, and glasses of FLO Wine, as they waited in excitement.  Everyone was eager to see what Momolu had in store. In the meantime, the Nioxin and Cole Stevens’ teams were working hard backstage to style all the models’ hair in preparation for the presentation. Makeup was being done by Mirabella Beauty, and nails by LcB Mail Lacquer, to complete the looks. Finally, when the clock hit eight, the first model walked down and took her place on the runway. The guests eagerly surrounded the runway to capture Momolu’s remarkable designs.

Momolu had the idea of personifying “good verses evil”, in her Enchanted Fantasy, themed collection. She was successful in featuring this idea by using bold colors, prints, and textures to the pieces.  She did this while also incorporating monochromatic black pieces in some of her designs; adding drama to the visual spectrum of the collection as a whole.  The use of silk organza, lace, leather, feathers, beads, and silk were present in Momolu’s elegant evening gowns, tops, and cocktail dresses. These materials allowed Momolu’s collection to come to life and explore the Enchanted Fantasy, she desired.   There were true distinctions with the use of color, and fabric; clearly portraying the “good verses evil” theme.

Styling efforts for all the models were attributed to celebrity fashion stylists, Arnold Milfort, and Misa Hylton. The duo worked together, coordinating the entire look of each model.  They accessorized with statement pieces from; Cashhimi Luxury Handbags, eye-catching LaureLuxe jewelry, and fashionable Mashonda gloves. The models on the runway held the Cashhimi clutches and bags; hand selected, by Milfort, to exquisitely match to the show’s theme.  After the presentation, guests were treated with up close looks at the brightly colored python bags, which were displayed on the red carpet. In addition to the jewelry, the collection also featured elaborate gold and silver custom headpieces, designed by LaureLuxe.  These unique pieces of fashion artwork, were a truly magnificent addition to the collection.

When the presentation came to a close, Korto Momolu, made a spotlight appearance, walking down the runway and thanking everyone for their support.Momolu ended the presentation with a speech, the crowd applauded the collection and as the announcement of her new online store.  She spoke about her plans for the future, and quickly made an announcement about her addition to the upcoming season of Project Runway Allstars.

The overall success of the event can be credited to the collaborative efforts of: DeShield Enterprises, The Nouveau Image, Eonis Media, and all the sponsors; including, Hotel Belle Claire, Paramount Hotel, I-G Creative, and This Is It NYC. At the end of the night, guests left with a gift bag filled with products provided by Nioxin, Big Sexy Hair, Shea Moisture, Goody, Mirabella, Vita Coco, Dream Water, Agent 18, Good on Paper, and Applause Africa Magazine.
