By the pricking of my thumbs - a wicked festival this way comes!

STRATFORD-UPON-AVON, U.K. - Sept. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Stratford’s Annual Halloween Festival is even spookier than before. Now in its eighth year, Stratford’s longest festival will once again take place centred around the award winning Creaky Cauldron and Magic Alley in Henley Street from 1 October - 31 October.  Taking visitors on a “phantasm” - agorical journey through the extremely weird world of the Victorian Halloween Imagiscarium, the festival is an absolute must for those interested in ghosts, ghouls and everything that goes bump in the night!

This year the festival is packed with child friendly activities including pumpkin-carving workshops, ghost stories, the world famous Hall of the Pumpkin Father, late night screenings at the Stratford Picture House and spook-tacular competitions, not forgetting “A Fright On The Town” (The Great Stratford Zombie Shuffle) on October 31st.

The Pumpkin Father will once again be taking up residence in the world famous Hall of the Pumpkin Father where you can try your hand at traditional Trick or Treating: make him laugh to get a treat, but beware, be unsuccessful and get a terrible fright…  The Grand Halloween Competition.  “Do you have the Hex Factor?” is back for the third year: tell us your foulest jokes and hexes - & whichever we judge the best (or worst as the case may be) will win an award. It's a daily competition with the 31 daily winners being  entered into a grand draw on All Hallows Eve for the grand prize itself.

The Golden Broomstick Café will once again be serving up a range of special Halloween delicacies including Toffee Apple and Spiced Pumpkin Milkshakes, Original Recipe Butter Beer, Pumpkin Pie and lots of other ghoulish delights.

Adults can look forward to a range of far more scary events after the lights go out at night.  Jadis Shadows will be presenting Grimm’s Fairy Tales at the Magic Alley Theatre and Tread the Boards will be presenting Phantom of the Opera at the Attic Theatre.  Overnight Ghost Hunts will be taking place at the Creaky Cauldron, Stratford’s most haunted building, and there are ghost walks ghoul-ore!
