Follow on Google News | IMC’s Instrument Proficiency Center Comes to AOPA Summit 2013The IMC Club, together with RedBird Flight Simulations, will host an Instrument Proficiency Center this year at the AOPA Aviation Summit in Fort Worth, Texas.
A special forum headed by the IMC Club president Radek Wyrzykowski will kick off each day’s IPC’s activities. The forum’s open format, now known as The IMC Club Open Chapter Meeting, was begun at last year’s Oshkosh AirVenture. The forum focuses on IFR proficiency along with the important decision-making process for pilots. A scenario for discussion uses a real-life experience that an IMC Club member encountered in instrument flight. After the presentation and discussion, participants of the Open Chapter Meeting can utilize RedBird’s full motion FMX flight simulator to test their decisions by actually flying the scenario presented at the forum. The simulator scenarios have been co-developed by the IMC Club and the Redbird Simulator team for use exclusively in Redbird flight simulators. A copy of that particular scenario will also be available and distributed free of charge on a USB drive to all IMC Club Open Chapter Meeting participants. The concept behind the IMC Club is to create local communities of instrument rated pilots, and aspiring instrument pilots, around the country and around the world, who regularly meet to discuss topics and share information relative to instrument flying. This "organized hangar flying" promotes the sharing of experience among attendees. More information can be found at http://www.imcclubs.org End
