ATL LIMS Webcast: Asbestos Testing, Reporting and Management for Certified Laboratories

(ATL) will host the seventh in a series of complimentary webcasts on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, providing information on Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for asbestos testing laboratories. Having the proper tools is essential to equipping your asbestos testing laboratory for success. This webcast will share the benefits of a LIMS for National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) compliance and provide details on ATL's LIMS asbestos module, with a focus on the following:

Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) - users can add, copy, insert and delete layers on the fly, and the quick search feature provides drop-down lists for faster input. Calculations are performed automatically in real-time, leaving no guesswork about how much sample is remaining, and analysts may view and modify microscopic observations.

Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) - analysts can easily set default information for filter size, magnification and other options to streamline analysis time.During data entry, user-populated dropdown lists become available based on specific fibers, and images may be uploaded directly from your computer, microscopes or other instruments.

Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) - analysts can perform PCM tests and enter results without ever looking away from the microscope. The PCM calculator automatically totals fibers, fields and the average fibers per field. While entering data, an audible tone lets the analyst know when 100 fibers are counted within 20 fields.

Recommended attendees include laboratory and quality managers in asbestos, industrial hygiene and environmental testing laboratories. Laboratory analysts are also encouraged to attend.
