"Nature Contained": An Urban Sculpture Garden at The Plant Courtyard in Olneyville
Guest Curated by Brooke Erin Goldstein, “Nature Contained” is a one-night-only event featuring artists working with nature as a medium or subject matter at The Plant Courtyard in Olneyville.
“Nature Contained”, featuring seven artists working locally in the Providence/Boston area, comments on our current culture of technology by creating space for us to unplug, turn off and silence the influences of the outside world by exploring pockets of nature brought into an urban environment. “Currently in our society there is almost an expectation of availability,”
“Nature Contained” is meant to inspire serenity in the viewer giving them permission to get lost and explore along a natural walking path where the artwork is the greenery.
Patrons who purchase artwork from the show will be inviting themselves to take that feeling of peace home with them. This acts as a reminder to take time out to review and reenter the world as it was intended by design.
