Follow on Google News | Young family start making free educational videos for Toddlers.Toddler Fun Learning is a family-run production company with the sole purpose to make videos for toddlers that not only look fantastic, but also help your little loved ones with their counting, spelling, vocabulary and lots more
We’re made up of Christian (age 30 1/2), Amalie (age 29 1/2), Joshua (age 2) and Poppy (age 1). Our product is educational, fun, free videos for toddlers to watch, enjoy and learn. Our unique selling point is that our videos are TV quality, they are videos you could expect to see on Cbeebies, and they all have some educational value. We mix beautiful, simple, animation that kids can associate with, along with live action footage that shows them the real world example of what they have seen in the video. Christian came up with the concept whilst searching for videos to watch on Youtube on our iPad with our son Joshua (2 1/2). There were the obvious Peppa Pig episodes etc, but the content created specifically for Youtube was really poorly done; dodgy CGI graphics, bad American voiceover, or generally did not hold Josh's attention properly. We thought we could do a much better job at creating simple, unique and fun videos that really engage toddlers. The creative process is actually quite unique. Christian and Amalie will come up with ideas for videos that they think are key to a toddler’s development - counting, ABCs, vocabulary etc, and then create a quirky concept around this. The key element is simplicity. The animation, scripting, everything is designed to be simple and appeal to toddlers. The animation tries to reflect what is in a child’s animation. Christian will then take the idea and create illustrations within apps on an iPad. Due to having a full time job and 2 kids under 3, these are mostly done on the train to work, or in evenings once the kids are in bed. The illustrations then get imported into Adobe After Effects where they are brought to life. Our key achievement was getting the first video live and realising the key strengths that our video has. Josh's cousin Harry will not sit still for anything. His parents have tried him on Thomas the Tank, Bob The Builder, In the Night Garden - everything. He sits through all of our videos and asks for more. Thats probably the biggest achievement so far! We’ve only been producing the videos for just over a month, but we’ve already had a great response. We’re waiting for them to climb up the rankings within Youtube search which tends to take a few months, but so far all feedback within Youtube has been 100% positive. As the Managing Director of Curly Productions Ltd – a video production company based in Liverpool, he decided to use some of the skills he had learned over the years as a side project after watching some other children’s videos on Youtube with his little boy Josh. Christian also makes video blogs about life as a new father, called How To Be A Dad. You can watch some of these videos here. Amalie is a part-time marketing assistant, full time mum. As a mother, she knows a thing or two about what keeps children entertained and also what she feels is important to learn at this crucial stage in a child’s life. Amalie also provides her maternal tones for many of the video’s narration. Enquiries: Christian Hughes - christian@curlyproductions.co.uk 07971 603310 End
