Edentech launches new website for finding food, drug, medical, & product recalls

SPRINGFIELD, Pa. - Sept. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Software engineering firm Edentech Solutions Group LLC is pleased to announce the launch of FoodRecalls.net ; a free, consumer-facing website geared towards helping people quickly discover and research food, drug, medical, and product recalls.  

The site includes daily recall updates as well as easy-to-use search and category interfaces that allow filtering by date, company, problem, and recall type.  Besides search, FoodRecalls.net also includes detailed information about each recall including an overview, product images, company information, hazard details, and pertinent external links to the Food and Drug Association (FDA) website.  Each recall page also has a comments section where visitors can discuss the product and add any helpful tips.  The site is also mobile friendly and renders content specifically for different mobile device sizes and orientations.    

While Edentech primarily focuses on custom software development and project management, FoodRecalls.net is an addition to the company's growing portfolio of healthcare focused software.  "Right now our product suite primarily focuses on B2B type products such as Hourglass Appointment Manager and Garland, so we wanted to do something different and build a consumer-facing solution," said Matt Mondok, Edentech's Chief Architect.  "We've heard over and over that finding recall information-especially in a historic sense-was difficult, so we wanted to create a one stop shop for finding recall info both old and new."  

As the site grows, Edentech plans to expand FoodRecalls.net beyond the website and offer native applications for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone.  The company has also said that it is currently gathering consumer feedback and will add new features to make staying updated on recalls as simple as possible.  Planned enhancements include keyword alerts, company links, and integrated commentary.
