A perfect fit for the ambassadorial role, Rachel, 27, has been a star of Channel 4’s hit TV show, Countdown, since making her first appearance in December 2009 as the numbers expert. Earlier this year, Rachel was revealed as the newest member of the team on Channel 5’s The Gadget Show and just this week it was announced that she’ll be counting the ‘steps to success’ in the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing. Now, she is adding her ambassador role at Mind Sports (International)
A Mathematics graduate of Oxford University, Rachel has always maintained a strong interest in education and the promotion of maths and science, particularly to young people. Naturally, her love of numbers, intellectual competition and dedication to youth development made her the prime candidate for the Mind Sports (International)
“Mind Sports (International)
“Mahjong dates back to 500BC and chess to the 6th Century. These games aren’t just learning tools but a part of history. Mind sports don’t have expensive equipment or the need to keep up with the latest version - they’re great fun for everyone, anywhere, all the while promoting intellectual development.”
Dave Brannan, CEO of Mind Sports (International)
Rachel will be presenting a selection of online TV shows from upcoming Mind Sports Festivals within the next 12 months, with the next taking place at the Cardiff Mind Sports Festival at the Millennium Stadium, 13th – 15th September. Each programme will be broadcast alongside live tournament coverage on the company’s dedicated television channel, www.mindsportstv.com.
