New Rock Band, Stone Driver, Set To Take Washington DC By Storm

Music-making veterans, Kevin Fahy and Chad Lesch, have come together to help form a new four piece alternative rock band, Stone Driver. The band is set to please DC audiences for years to come.

WASHINGTON - Sept. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Washington DC area rock music fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as they will have a new band to follow and support. Stone Driver came together after Kevin Fahy and Chad Lesch, who have played in various bands in the DC area, collaborated on Fahy's recent album "Walk On Top".

"We absolutely can't wait to get back out playing live. The past six months we've been focused on writing and recording new songs which has been very fulfilling from a creative standpoint, but there really isn't anything quite like the feeling you get performing on stage and sharing that energy back with the crowd," Lesch said.

Chad Lesch was recently recognized for his guitar work and endorsed by custom guitar rig designers Mark L Custom (http://www.marklcustom.com/artists) who helped him to build a "gonzo psychedelic" guitar effects rig for live shows. It was recently featured on Pink Floyd tribute website www.Gilmourish.com due to it's capabilities.

"Well, from an artistic standpoint, the goal is that they (listeners) can hopefully hear and connect with the different experiences and emotions that we attempt to translate into our music. From a genre standpoint, I think the Seattle grunge impact is certainly there, but mixed in with a strong dash of blues, classic rock, and acoustic melodies," Fahy explained.

While they're still planning their big push in the DC area, the band is already finding some early notority. Stone Driver was recently honored to be featured on 89.1 CKRL's alternative rock program "Illusions Auditives" along with the Queens of the Stone Age "...Like Clockwork" album debut.

"We've found that the blend of acoustic and electric guitars really has created a sort of yin/yang tone that has defined our sound; not in a Pixies LoudQuietLoud way, but more a "Richie Havens meets Pete Townsend" model if that makes any sense. It's the struggle and release between the driving acoustic organic textures and distorted electric "deus ex machina" that seem to push our music further and make things interesting," said Lesch.
