Chester County 2020 collaborates with West Chester University

Sept. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Chester County 2020, a local non-profit organization that works to connect and educate Chester County’s residents, businesses and political leaders had recently made a most key connection with West Chester University. Chester County 2020 engages stakeholders in cooperative efforts to address common issues; dispel misguided rumors that develop in any community discussion; and produce measurable action on issues that affect the county’s quality of life and the University saw that these would be key skills for some of their students to learn and experience first-hand.  After months of increasing talk and cooperation, an internship track has finally been created within the University that allows students to receive credit for their work with Chester County 2020. Chester County 2020 and West Chester University had already been partnered in bringing The Master Program to Chester county to effectively and efficiently educate community members about community planning but this increased collaboration will doubtless be a great asset to many more students and Chester County residents .

The very first intern that has been selected to kick off the internship in the Fall 2013 semester is Geena Ramondo. She has  been working with Chester County 2020 since the year prior and is excited that cooperation amongst a lot of key individuals in both organizations had allowed her to receive credit while serving a meaningful cause and gaining so much real world experience.  Professor George Fasic and  Professor Matin Katari were instrumental in establishing the track within the university and they will be keeping their eyes out for upcoming interns that will be a good fit for the program.
