Sept. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- This week, The Huffington Post premiered short story “The Beast” by Carmen Amato, in its Huff/Post 50 showcase of female fiction writers. Beat cop Emilia Cruz is “The Beast” as she risks everything to become Acapulco’s first and only female police detective. The story is a prequel to Amato's popular Emilia Cruz mystery series set in Mexico’s iconic Pacific Coast city.

The series includes the recently released novel HAT DANCE, which is currently climbing the charts of Amazon’s International Mystery and Crime category as well as the Hispanic Fiction category; and CLIFF DIVER, the novel that Kirkus Reviews praised as “consistently exciting . . . a clever Mexican detective tale that will leave readers eager for the next installment.”
