American Business Women’s Association Selects Dr. Vera Packard for Women of Distinction Award

FREMONT, Calif. - Sept. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- FREMONT, Calif. – September 4, 2013 – HERS Breast Cancer Foundation (http://hersbreastcancerfoundation.org/) (HBCF), a professional accredited organization that supports any woman with a focus on breast cancer, today is proud to announce that Executive Director, Dr. Vera Packard, will be a recipient of the Women of Distinction award for 2013 Outstanding Business Woman, by the Bay Area Council of Northern California American Business Women’s Association. Dr. Packard will be recognized on Women’s Recognition Day, which takes place on Saturday, September 14, 2013.

HERS Breast Cancer Foundation is an organization devoted to supporting all women healing from breast cancer by providing post-surgical products and services regardless of financial status. As the Executive Director, Dr. Vera Packard’s passion is to empower women before, during and after breast cancer treatment, and care for each client as a whole person.

Since Dr. Packard joined HBCF in 2008, the organization has grown significantly with great success throughout the Bay Area. HBCF has served thousands of individuals, who otherwise would not be able to afford the necessary products for recovery such as bras, lymphedema garments and prosthesis. The organization provides its services and support to everyone regardless of financial status, and never turns anyone away.

“I am honored to be selected as one of three women to be recognized for such an outstanding award,” said Dr. Packard. “Since I started practicing medicine, I’ve always had a deep commitment to women’s health issues and being a part of HBCF is so rewarding. I hope to continue bringing greater exposure to our organization and continue to help women in need. ”

The Women of Distinction Award recognizes three women who will be recognized as this year’s outstanding businesswomen. The event also recognizes each Council’s Chapters’ Women of the Year, including the recognition of the Council’s Woman of the Year and Lifetime Achievement recipient.
