connectBlue® Bluetooth Low Energy Modules Pass Japanese Radio Type Approvals

connectBlue today announced that its Bluetooth low energy modules have passed radio type approvals in Japan which expands the use of these products into the Japanese market.
 
MALMÖ, Sweden - Sept. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- connectBlue’s wireless offering consists of Classic Bluetooth, Bluetooth low energy and Wireless LAN (WLAN) solutions. The Classic Bluetooth and WLAN modules are already radio type approved for Japan. Now passed for use in Japan are the connectBlue Bluetooth Low Energy Platform Module OLP425, Bluetooth Low Energy Serial Port Module OLS425 and Bluetooth Low Energy Serial Port Module OLS426.

“Since all our wireless modules have Japanese radio type approvals, our customers can freely choose any connectBlue module to bring to market there,” says Rolf Nilsson, CEO of connectBlue.

Wireless equipment to be used in Japan must be radio type approved by assigned certification bodies according to Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC). These certificates are issued once proper testing is completed by specifically appointed laboratories.

Type approved for use in the 2.4 GHz band in Japan are the connectBlue Bluetooth Low Energy Platform Module OLP425, Bluetooth Low Energy Serial Port Module OLS425, Bluetooth Low Energy Serial Port Module OLS426, Bluetooth Serial Port Module OBS410, Bluetooth Serial Port Module OBS411, Bluetooth Serial Port Module OBS421, Bluetooth Serial Port Module OBS433, Bluetooth I/O Module OBI411, Wireless LAN SPI Module OWL221a, Wireless LAN SDIO Module OWL222a, Wireless LAN SPI Module OWL253 and Wireless LAN UART Serial Port Module OWS451.
