2014 Acura MDX Wins in Edmunds Luxury Crossover Comparison

NORTH HAMPTON, N.H. - Sept. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Competition in the luxury crossover market has ramped up as Lexus, Infiniti and Acura have introduced all-new or heavily revised offerings. Edmunds.com recently set out to discern which premium model holds the most appeal, and found that the 2014 Acura MDX packs a better punch than the 2014 Infiniti QX60 and the 2013 Lexus RX 350 F Sport.

To choose a winner, Edmunds.com editors took a range of attributes into account, including long-haul comfort, headroom, cargo room, third-row seating access, safety equipment, fuel economy and handling. Redesigned from the top down for the 2014 model year, the Acura MDX sports a new lighter chassis, powerful V6 engine and family-friendly amenities that appeal to a wide range of prospective drivers.

Powered by a 290-horsepower V6 engine and available with Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, the new MDX offers potent performance in any conditions. That power doesn't come at the expense of fuel economy though, as the MDX is also able to return 28 mpg on the highway. Inside, there's room for seven passengers or up to 91 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded flat.
