New Nissan Versa Note Ranked Best Back-to-School Car

BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Sept. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- College students don't always have a lot of money to spare, especially for major investments like buying a new car. Fortunately for them, there are a number of high-quality new vehicles that are both affordable and suited to meet their needs, and none are better than the new Nissan Versa Note, according to automotive valuation firm Kelley Blue Book. KBB.com recently released its list of the 10 Best Back-to-School Cars of 2013, all available for under $20,000, and the Versa Note checked in at No. 1.

In addition to price, the KBB.com list weighed each vehicle's versatility, fuel economy, safety and style, and the 2014 Nissan Versa Note scored highly in all four categories. Fuel efficiency played an especially big role -- the four-door hatchback can deliver up to 31 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway -- and the Versa Note also benefited from its available technological features, such as Bluetooth connectivity, hands-free text messaging, and navigation and Around View Monitor systems.

"Technology is one of the most effective ways to reach college-age drivers, and the new Versa Note is equipped with many of the industry's latest tools and features," said Russ Daniel, partner and general manager of Landers McLarty Nissan, a Nissan dealer in Arkansas. "Not only does the Versa Note have advanced technology to make driving more convenient and fun, but it also helps drivers park by displaying what's outside all four sides of the vehicle."

If July's sales figures are any indication, the KBB.com study seems to be on the mark about the Versa Note's popularity. Nissan sold 9,007 Versa models in July 2013, easily outpacing the sales total of 7,451 from the same time period in 2012 and well ahead of any other car in the subcompact segment. Helped by the Versa Note, Nissan sold 72,768 Versa models through the end of July, far more than the second-place Chevy Sonic's mark of 50,960 units.
